Well, I've also got one of those Hi-Point carbines. You know, that thing isn't bad! Mind you, I bought it just to have one. Pleasant surprise! As for "leather". I've seen, and owned, some really nice holsters in my time. What do I carry my personal pieces in? Uncle Mikes or Fobus. Cheap, serviceable. I've got IWB leather, belt rigs, on and on. What I simply lace on my belt in my civvies is my Uncle Mikes pancake. I'm waiting for Fobus to offer that IWB they've got for the Glock for the 1911. And why buy a new rifle(unless that's simply "the one") when there are so many brilliant old military rifles around? I mean there for a "truck gun" type of tool. I too drool at the thought of some varmint grade AR-10 or some such. Do I have one? No. If I could afford one would I buy it? Probably. Can I clean 10 12oz soda bottles with 10 rounds from my 308 Saiga at 100yds? Sure. I've got a good tough rifle that didn't cost much. Don't pass up a good thing if it'll do what you want.
